Abstract

The dielectric properties of annealed single crystals of SrTi${\mathrm{O}}_{3}$ have been measured over the temperature range from 5 to 300 \ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}K. At temperatures below 50 \ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}K, electric double hysteresis loops are observed and associated changes in weak-field permittivity under dc bias have been measured. It is shown that a phenomenological analysis based on the simple Kittel function accounts satisfactorily for many aspects of the dielectric behavior of SrTi${\mathrm{O}}_{3}$ crystals.
