Abstract

Abstract It has become increasingly evident in recent years that prodromal states of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) likely exist. Clinical criteria for AD have been published and used worldwide-for example, Diagnostic and Statistical Manual IV (DSM IV) and National Institute for Neurological Communitive Disorders and Stroke/Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders (NINCDS/ADRDA) (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 4th ed., 1994; McKhann et al., 1984).
