Abstract

From the viewpoint of technology transfer and education of ship design, it is essential to incorporate design process with knowledge. ShareFast is a methodology for associating knowledge with process and representing them as multimedia information based on semantic web technology. In this methodology, workflows of ship design process are implemented by a software system. It is concluded that the system worked very well to articulate the workflow and design knowledge, and the design process was executed efficiently even by inexperienced engineers.
