Abstract

In cases of extreme inner ear anomalies such as cochleas located adjacent to each other in the midline due to a fusion defect and a single, vertical internal acoustic canal, and internal carotid artery and facial nerve dehiscence in the middle ear that make conventional cochlear implant surgery impossible, cochlear implantation can be successfully performed with the help of endoscopes via the cystic vestibule approach.
